Job status - Overview¶
When you install an app or restart an Edge Device or perform a backup of an IE Device state, an according job is created and performed in the IEM.
The Job Status screen provides a way to monitor all executed jobs.
Jobs related to apps and Edge Devices are listed under the System tab, jobs for backup and restore operations are listed under the Backups tab,
and jobs for firmware update operations are listed under the Firmware updates tab.
Each job is shown in its own row, including its status and available actions.
Apps and Edge Devices jobs¶
This table displays a log of system actions, including their creation date, the specific action performed (e.g., install, reset), the device involved, and the current status of each action. It allows users to track system activities and their outcomes.
Delete jobs:
By selecting 1 or more jobs, the selected jobs are marked and the Delete button is enabled to delete the corresponding jobs.
You can also cancel or delete pending jobs if the jobs have not reached yet the IE Device respectively if the jobs are not displayed yet in the task manager in the Edge Device UI.
The table is refreshed automatically.
Backup and restore jobs¶
This table provides a comprehensive overview of all backup and restore jobs, showing their creation date, the action performed (backup or restore), the associated device, and the job's status (e.g. Completed, Failed, or Partial). The "Details" column offers additional information, such as reasons for failure or specific backup contents.
NOTICE
Detailed job information is only accessible for jobs created with Industrial Edge Management Helm version V2.2.0 or newer. Information for older jobs remains unchanged.
For more detailed information, see Device Backup Jobs and Device Restore Jobs.
Delete jobs: You can also delete backup and restore jobs, similar to how you manage App and Edge Device jobs.
Cancel jobs:
When you perform a backup or restore of an IE Device state, an according job is created and displayed with the In Progress status.
You can cancel the operation while the job is in In Progress status by clicking the Cancel button. Confirm the cancelation by clicking Cancel in the displayed screen.
When you cancel a backup or restore job, the status switches to Canceling.
Until all corresponding jobs are finished, the backup or restore job will be in Canceling status.
Once the job has been canceled, the status displays Canceled.
When the restore job has been canceled, a reset will be triggered to keep the Edge Device in a consistent state.
