Installation of Device Applications¶
For the installation of Device Applications two different use cases with separate starting points can be differentiated:
- Installing one application on one or multiple devices
- Installing one or multiple applications on one device
The starting point for the first use case is the Device Application details page. The starting point for the second use case is the Device details page.
NOTICE
It is not possible to install multiple applications on multiple devices in on go.
After the initial difference in the selection of applications and devices, the further process for the installation is similar.
Installing one application on multiple devices¶
You can install every application on one or multiple devices. A list of devices that match the architecture of the selected application is provided as initial step.
Select the device(s) on which you want to install the application on. Once selected, the device card is highlighted and on the right side an additional information screen will pop up. Here, you will be informed about the application permissions and you can edit the application's configuration. This configuration only applies to the selected and highlighted device. To edit the configuration of a different device, simply click on a different tile.
Installing multiple applications on one device¶
On every device, you can install one or multiple applications. A list of applications that match the architecture of the selected device is provided as initial step.
Select the applications(s) that you want to install on the device. Once selected, the application card is highlighted and on the right side an additional information screen will pop up. Here, you will be informed about the application permissions and you can edit the application's configuration. The configuration only applies to the selected and highlighted application. To edit the configuration of a different application, simply click on a different tile.
Application Permissions¶
An application can have three types of permissions: Allowed
, Warning
or Blocked
.
If any application has the permission Blocked
, then the device card will show the label Not allowed to be installed
and can not be selected for installation.

There can be three types of configurations: Version based
, File based
or Template based

Apply configurations¶
In order to apply the configurations you need to check the checkbox next to each configuration before the installation.
Upon the installation of one application to many devices, you can easily apply a configuration to all other selected devices by checking the Apply this configuration to all devices
checkbox.
NOTICE
You will be prompted for confirmation whenever you attempt to overwrite a previously selected configuration.
Installation submit¶
Once you have selected the application(s) or device(s), you can submit the installation.
When clicking on the Install button
you will receive a notification at the bottom right of the screen.
