Role Templates

Role templates are predefined sets of actions that can be assigned to users. Each template lists the actions associated with a specific role type, helping you quickly configure permissions for users. Below is a list of role templates and their corresponding actions.

Application Sharing Role Templates

Device Groups Sharing Role Templates

Device Admin

Action	Description
Update firmware	Install (the latest) device firmware.
Restart/Shutdown	Restart or shutdown devices.
Manage settings	Manage device settings such as memory limit check, log streaming and many more.
Manage label	Add or delete labels to organize devices.
Create backup	Create a backup of device data and settings.
Restore device	Restore device data and settings from a backup.
Manage remote access	Enable or disable remote connections to a device.
Download logs	Retrieve device logs for analysis and troubleshooting.
Hard reset	Restore a device to its factory settings. The device will be removed from Industrial Edge Management.
Reset	Reset a device to remove all applications, including application configurations and volumes. The device keeps connected to the Industrial Edge Management and its settings, such as network settings, will remain unchanged.
Delete device	Delete the device from the Industrial Edge Management.
App management	Install, update, uninstall or change the configuration of the application on the device.
Device identity federation	Enable or disable single sign-on (SSO) between Industrial Edge Management and devices.
Application control	Start, stop or restart all applications on a device.
Manage tags	Add or delete tags (device variables).
View	View device in Industrial Edge Management including its installed applications, details and status.
View group	View the device group in Industrial Edge Management, including its assigned devices and users.
