License Monitoring

License monitoring starts with synchronization of license data from Industrial Edge Management. You find more information on synchronization of license data from the IEM to the IE Hub in the Admin UI > Licenses subsection in the Industrial Edge Management - Operation manual.

NOTICE

If an IEM instance is deleted from the IE Hub, license data that belong to the deleted IEM instance will be deleted too.

Industrial Edge Hub uses following parameters for license monitoring per product type:

  • Device application: Number of installation
  • Industrial Edge Device Management License: Number of onboarded Industrial Edge Devices to Industrial Edge Managements
  • Mendix Device License: Number of Industrial Edge Devices which mendix applications are installed.
  • Virtual Devices: Number of onboarded virtual devices of the same type.

Industrial Edge Hub shows compliance warnings if number of installations / onboarding / enablement is more than number of licenses assigned to Industrial Edge Management or Industrial Edge Device.

NOTICE

Licenses can be assigned on License Management menu. For more information on license assignment, see License Management.

Industry Mall Licenses

Industry Mall licenses are not being monitored by Industrial Edge Hub automatically. There will be no compliance warnings in this case for the Hubs which purchased at least 1 license. However, this doesn't mean license compliancy is not needed. Hubs are responsible to monitor their usage on their own.
