How to become an App Provider

Want to become an Industrial Edge App Provider? First of all, simply fill in the following Application Qualification Quick Assessment. Our Industrial Edge Ecosystem team will take a view of the assessment request after submission. If the the application passes the assessment, congratulations! As Industrial Edge is still a new product, we are working with partners to qualify them before launching their products on the market.

Please consider how your application fits with the following criteria and fill in our Application Qualification Quick Assessment:

Application Use Case

  • What is your use case? Why is it new for Edge?
  • What is the Unique Selling Point (USP) of your App?
  • How do you ensure a good usability?

Industry Experience & Portfolio Fit

  • Which customer groups do your applications add value to? What customer challenges are you solving?
  • Do you have reference projects with target customer groups?

Business Model & Geography

  • What is the Business Model for your application?
  • In which countries are you able to offer services to customers?

Technical fit

  • Does your application use Docker/Container technologies?
  • Are there any additional hardware, software or interfaces required for commissioning or operation?
  • What kind of service, support and expertise is required?

Checklist to publish a new Industrial Edge Application

The checklist contains the key deliverables for releasing an Industrial Edge application.

During the onboarding steps, please include us

Input for commercial publication on Marketplace:

  1. Accepted Ecosystem Framework & Ecosystem Agreement
  2. Supported business models
  3. Functional App Naming
  4. Provide Commercial Onboarding Information
  5. Provided App Icon
  6. Provide Hardware Demand Sheet
  7. Provide link to User manual, release notes (and public API specification)
  8. Provide Frontstore onboarding information with supporting documents (icons, text, videos, prerequisites, price …)
  9. Provide Support contact & Suport channel
  10. Reviewed and accepted the Marketplace listing on our testing system
  11. Provided Use Case Pitch Deck
  12. (Optional) Automatically participate in the 90 day Trial

Input for technical release on the Industrial Edge Hub:

  1. Organization Information was registered and App Seller Role was received
  2. While publishing a new version of your application, you need to provide the capability statement for Application Builders. For more information refer Application Provider Capabilities. This data is required by Industrial Edge Compatibility Checker which is a tool to provide clear insights into which devices and versions meet the needs of specific applications and versions. This transparency ensures a safer, smoother update process and better decision-making when purchasing applications or devices.
  3. App complies with Ecosystem Review and requested material has been provided (e.g. App Release candiate, Docu, Sample data, ..)
  4. Application is configured and published on Industrial Edge Hub in marketplace
