Product Selling - Overview

You have the possibility to publish products to the global IE Marketplace and making your products purchasable for other consumers. For this, the "App Seller" role is required. To receive the "App Seller" role, you must contact the Industrial Edge Ecosystem. The Industrial Edge Ecosystem assigns the role to your hub. Any hub admin can assign this role afterwards to any member of this hub. After you have received the role, the "Product Selling" menu item is enabled for you in the IE Hub. To display the menu item, log out and log in again to the IE Hub. In the "Product Selling" menu item, you configure the marketplace information in order to complete publishing it the global IE Marketplace by licensing it through Siemens Digital Exchange (DEX).

Product Status

Two types of products are listed in "Product Selling". One is device application, the other is upgrade product. To get more details about the types, please check "Product Management" section.

Products can have the following app status:

  • Ready for marketplace: Add marketplace information to complete publishing your product to the IE Marketplace
  • Pending Approval: Industrial Edge Support checks the request
  • In Marketplace: Product is in the IE Marketplace and purchasable for other consumers
